The Youth Action Team (YAT) needs you!! At the hear of Aylesbury Youth Action is a crack team of elite volunteers dedicated to improving the quality, quantity and diversity of youth volunteering in Aylesbury Vale. AYA volunteers help the Aylesbury Talking Newspaper Association every 6 weeks by recording the Bucks Herald to enable blind and partially sighted people to keep up to date with local news. Volunteers book 30 min slots anytime between 10am and 6pm to record sections from the newspaper including the main articles, sport, letters, family announcements, obituaries etc. If you don’t want to record alone why not bring a friend along too? Please note you need to book your preferred time slot. |

It’s that time of year again and the popular Christmas Shop with the Elderly is fast approaching.... This is always a very popular project with both the elderly, many of whom find it extremely difficult to get into town, and the volunteers who accompany local elderly people around town for their Christmas Shopping. This year’s Christmas Shop will be taking place on Thursday 1st December, 3.45pm –6pm, meeting outside QDs in Aylesbury Town Centre. This is a great project to do with friends as volunteers are grouped into twos and threes to accompany our elderly shoppers. If you’d like to take part get in touch now or join us at the training session on 21st Nov. |
